The anime Zom 100 goes on an indefinite hiatus
Over the weekend, the ninth episode of the anime adaptation of the manga 'Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead' was aired, and as a result, the production has entered an indefinite suspension until further information is revealed regarding the broadcast of the remaining three episodes.
To understand the situation, it's important to recall that 'Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead' premiered on July 9 and was confirmed to have a total of twelve episodes, which should have concluded on September 24. Unfortunately, the production has faced internal issues at BUG FILMS studio (reportedly masked as 'scheduling conflicts'), which resulted in a disruption in the airing schedule.
As a result, the series still has three episodes left to air but won't have a time slot available next week. This is because next week marks the official start of the fall season of 2023 (October-December), and if another production gives up its time slot for 'Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead' to air its remaining three episodes, it would trigger a domino effect, as that new series would also need three additional weeks.
Therefore, the production needs to find a way to air the final three episodes without interfering with the new season starting next week. Since there's a contract with television networks, the episodes must be broadcast on television at some point (they cannot be released directly on streaming platforms). This could result in a delay until late in the season (possibly December 2023) or the preparation of a special in which all three episodes are aired on the same day. We'll have to wait for more information on the situation.
