A trailer for Hayao Miyazaki's latest film and something more is revealed
The legendary Japanese animation director, Hayao Miyazaki, continues to defy expectations and astonish the world of cinema at the age of 82. Despite the belief that his latest film, "Kimitachi wa Dou Ikiru ka (How Do You Live?)," would mark his retirement, new statements from an influential member of the Studio Ghibli team have taken an unexpected turn in the situation.
Miyazaki, recognized for his influence in the animation industry, has faced the challenges of aging, as the creation of anime films is a strenuous and demanding process. His most recent film, "How Do You Live?," was in production for the better part of a decade, leading many to believe it would be his final work.
However, in an interview with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on the red carpet of the Toronto International Film Festival, where "How Do You Live?" premiered as the opening film, Junichi Nishioka, Studio Ghibli's head of public relations, shared exciting news. Journalist Eli Glasner quoted Nishioka in a tweet saying, "How Do You Live? is not Miyazaki's last film, and he's already returning to the office with new ideas."
This announcement has caused a significant buzz in the film community and among animation enthusiasts. While Miyazaki has delegated some of the animation work to other artists while focusing on directing the story and contributing new ideas, the possibility of the 82-year-old veteran director helming another complete film is not ruled out.
